1869 / 2009 - Morro do H - Piúma - Espírito Santo - Brasil
[pt] No ano 1869, o fotógrafo alemão Albert Richard Dietze radicado no Brasil tirou uma série de fotos de paisagens do Espírito Santo. Um album de 53 dessas fotos foi exposto na Exposição Universal de Paris de 1889.
Aqui, a foto na minha tela e a foto do livro mostram o Morro do H em Piúma. Elas foram tiradas de dois pontos vizinhos. Agora estou planejando fazer a mesma série que Dietze fez há 140 anos, com o objetivo de encontrar o ponto exato da tomada de vista.
[en] In 1869 the German photographer Albert Richard Dietze settled in Brazil shot a series of landscapes from Espírito Santo. A collection of 53 pictures from this series has been shown at the Universal Exhibition of 1889 in Paris.
The photograph displayed here on my screen and the one printed in the book both show a hill in Piúma called "Morro do H". They have been shot from two neighboring places. Now I plan to shoot the same series Dietze made 140 years ago, trying to find the exact location where he put the camera.

La photo affichée ici sur mon écran et celle imprimée dans le livre montrent toutes deux une colline de Piúma, nommée "Morro do H". Elles ont été prises de deux endroits voisins. Je projette de réaliser la même série de photos que Dietze, 140 années après, en tentant de retrouver l'endroit exact des prises de vue.

L'un de mes amis a fait cela à partir d'images des villages de sa région de la fin du 19è et début du 20è siècle. Le résultat est extrêmement intéressant.

At first, before reading your post, the photo looked like "your dream". By that I mean that we can see that you sit next to your computer, but your mind is in totally different place - On the open planes, exotic countries.
Reading your post explained the thing to me and I think it's great to try and "recreate" photos of the masters :)

je trouve l'idée tres interessante: certains photographes ont déjà fait ce genre de démarche, pas toujours facile à réaliser, le plus complexe étant de retrouver l'endroit exact ;).
le tout étant présenté sous forme de diptyque.

J'espère que tu mèneras à bien ton projet, et je suis curieux de voir la suite.
J'ai fait un peu la même chose, mais pas encore exploité les photos : j'ai la chance d'avoir des photos de familles datées du 1er avril 1907 dans une maison que je possède toujours, et j'ai refait "les mêmes", avec les mêmes cadrages du même endroit, le 1er avril 2007. Sur certaines, j'ai demandé à ma mère de poser à la place de ma grand mère, qui était alors toute gamine...
J'aime cette idée de juxtaposition des deux images, j'espère que va pouvoir réaliser ton projet.
